The ICC has revealed the schedule for the ICC World Cup 2023. India will host the 2023 ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup from October 5 through November 19, 2023. A total of 10 brigades will compete in the next World Cup. In addition to Afghanistan, Australia, England, Bangladesh, New Zealand, Pakistan, and South Africa, India, the host country, has earned direct qualification. These brigades were selected based on their performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup between 2020 and 2023.
The debut of is the main factor for the match’s new dates between India and Pakistan. If the match had been played on October 15, complex security procedures would have been required. The PCB was contacted by the ICC and BCCI to catalogue two of their group matches, including the game against India at Ahmedabad.
The crucial match between India and Pakistan, originally scheduled to begin on October 15 in Ahmedabad as part of the ICC World Cup, may now be played on October 14.
The event’s first game is scheduled to start on October 5 at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup final will be played in the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, according to BCCI Secretary Jay Shah.
The first semifinal will take place at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium, while Kolkata’s Eden Auditoriums will host the alternate semifinal.
A total of 10 locations—Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Dharamsala, Delhi, Chennai, Lucknow, Pune, Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Kolkata—will host the events.
The warm-up games will be played in Hyderabad, Guwahati, Thiruvananthapuram, and Thiruvananthapuram from September 29 to October 3.
Each platoon will play the others first in a round-robin format during the competition. The top four brigades will also advance to the semifinals, where the victors will play in the championship game. On October 8 in Chennai, India will play the defending champions Australia in their opening match of the competition. After that, there will be games against Qualifier 1, South Africa, Qualifier 2, New Zealand, England, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Qualifier Pakistan.
